anthropologie-esque

i am always so inspired when i step into the dreamy retail mecca that is anthropologie. who isn't? it's such a perfect marriage of vintage and timeless style...with a bit of parisian flair for good measure.
my recent projects reflect my total adoration of anthro-style....

i altered one of my favorite sweaters with some lace found at a local thrift shop:

yes, i'm still on the handmade flower kick. so i made a necklace that miss jane austen herself might wear to a fabulous ball:

this is what it looks like on - sort of -

and some more flowers... (the white one is HUGE and glorious!! can't wait to wear it)

thanks for peeking in.

handmade fabric flowers

i am seriously so GIDDY about my latest crafting craze.....these scrumptious fabric flowers.
handmade.
start to finish. from satin, and silk.

feast your eyes on these babies:

i made this one last night. the guinea feathers and netting give it such a fabulous vintage flair. no?

and this yellow satin??? simply divine!

here are a few close-ups....

i've attached clips to the back of all of these. they can be worn in the hair, as a pin on clothing, attached to a card, just about any place your little heart desires.
they make me swoon!!

family photo shoot

edit: this is my 300th blog post!!! (actually that is kind of sad considering i've had this blog since 2006. that number should be A LOT bigger. ahem)

okay, now that's out of the way. on to my post topic:

our family was in dire need of updated photos...with EVERY family member in them! luckily, i am a photographer, so it was an easy fix. (i do have a love/hate relationship with my tripod though - "jumping" in the photo after you set the timer has it's drawbacks.)

i love my fairy tale life!!! ....and they lived happily ever after.
