looking back - spring 2004

in 2004 we lived in pennsylvania. we only lived there for a few years, but it was a wonderful period in our lives, and it was where noah was born.

i had short, dark hair. (if you haven't noticed, i change my hair A LOT)

noah was a tiny, roly-poly baby...

we lived in a dreamy little cottage-esque house set against a hill side.

and this was our front yard. a gorgeous creek (though more like a river to me) that was glorious all year round.

life was really quite beautiful! it still is!

gifts received from kyle and noah...

for my birthday kyle gave me the ponytail lego chick. it was incredibly sweet...when he handed her to me he was kinda shy about it and said he just didn't have the right hair, but he tried to make her look like me. ahhh...
then for christmas, noah gave me "wicked-striped helmet hair girl" (i apologize to all you star wars geeks out there who probably know her real name, but i like my name better!)

they sit on a shelf in my kitchen, and from time to time (when no one is looking) i imagine they converse about serious matters such as.....

i want to live here...

gorgeous scenery everywhere you look...

napping is a high priority...

people have a deep appreciation of music...

and bicycling...

see what i mean about the music thing...

cupcakes are easily and readily available...

people care, and act on their concerns...

street performers are willing to share the limelight...

when you're here, you are instantly cool...
where is this magical place you ask??? why, boulder, of course! where else?

be still my heart...

what makes waking up every hour for small stretches at a time worth it?.....

this tiny, sweet, soft, cuddly, amazing little boy.
that's what!

i am really trying to post my birth story, but sitting at the computer for a stretch of time, and being able to think/type is a total luxury these days. again, so worth it!
